1. Start by the industry you want to work in, not the job you want.

2. Make a list about why you really want to work in that industry.

3. You need to look at what you have to offer, not just a list of practical skills, but a list of your softer skills (great team player, excellent organisational skills etc)

4. Identify companies’ within that industry then create a database with contacts.

5. Really look at your Resume and re-write it to appeal to a potential employer in that particular industry, what do they look for in their employees.

6. Write a great letter, spend time making sure its short but engaging.

7. Now send out your C.V to the companies on your database, make sure you send it to a specific person and not the Manager
