Academic Criteria & Professional Certification
- Has a Diploma / Degree in IT discipline
- Preferably, attained CCNA, MCSE and Sun Certified System / Network Administrator certification
Experience and Technical Skills Set
- At least 2 years experience in Systems and Network Administration
- Extensive administration experience on Unix systems (eg. Sun Solaris 7/8, Linux) and Win NT/2000
- Sound networking knowledge and hands-on experience with network & security equipment such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection systems and routers
- Experience with enterprise backup and management software, such as Veritas Netbackup and system monitoring and management tools
- Able to write scripts in both Unix and Windows-based environment to automate tasks
- Preferably, has sound knowledge of PKI technology

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possesses initiative and able to work independently as well as in a team
- Analytical and good trouble-shooting skills

- Familiar with data center operations
Responsibilities
- Perform system and network administration in a heterogeneous environment comprising of Sun Solaris Servers, Windows-based Servers, messaging systems and network & security equipment, such as routers, firewalls and cryptography equipment to support mission critical applications
- Implement operating systems and product-specific security hardening
- Perform performance tuning and capacity planning
- Monitor and install patches for the IT components
- Configure firewall rules and monitor the intrusion detection systems
- Recommend and implement IT infrastructure building-related activities, such as centralized backup, centralized user management and storage management
- Work in a team to implement the underlying processes supporting IT service management, such as configuration management and incident & problem management
- Provide system support to internal and external customers in a timely manner
